Earlier this year, P&O Ferries successfully accomplished the Ship of the Future (SOTF) project, and the assistance of RMS and our Guangzhou Branch Office team played an important part throughout the project. P&O Ferries has a rich history spanning over a century, serving as a prominent ferry operator in the United Kingdom, carrying out the vital mission of connecting the UK with the European mainland. Our exceptional dedication not only earned high praise from P&O Ferries but also exemplified our core values and enterprise spirit.
The project commenced in November 2023 and concluded in January of this year. This marked our second collaboration with P&O Ferries, leaving a lasting impression on our customer.
Throughout the project, the Guangzhou service team encountered numerous challenges to meet the demands of the customer. Notably, they successfully managed the delivery of four 6-meter cars and one 13-meter car, in addition to over 60 pallets of large and heavy items within a single day. Furthermore, they accomplished multiple high-difficulty supply operations after vessel shifting.
From 6 am in the morning until late at night, when the crew went to sleep, the supply officers of Guangzhou site service team would remain on standby, preparing to swiftly address any potential issues. Meanwhile, the sales and product teams for this project carefully monitored the supplied items’ details, with some teams going to Guangzhou Branch Office for product supervisions. This unwavering commitment ensured the successful completion of the project, earning praise from Mr. Ross Barrett, the director of P&O Ferries SOTF project, who even sent us a long appreciation letter.
In his letter, Mr. Ross expressed: “The professional delivery exhibited by you and your team was nothing short of exemplary. Your meticulous attention to detail, coupled with a proactive and solution-oriented approach, ensured that every aspect of the project was executed seamlessly. The calibre of work displayed has set a new standard for excellence within our organisation and, undoubtedly, in the maritime industry as a whole.”
This achievement represents just one of the many notable successes attained by RMS and our 17 branch offices. Our customer-centered and people-oriented philosophy has been not only fostering self-improvement internally, but also strengthening our collaborative partnerships with customers externally.
Following this project’s completion, we were presented with a P&O ferry model souvenir and commemorative T-shirts as tokens of appreciation. Additionally, we were honored with invitations to P&O celebration parties as the sole stores supplier. As remarked by Mr. Ross: “The friendships forged during this endeavour have not only enhanced our professional connections but have created a bond that extends beyond the confines of the workplace.” By showcasing this success story, we hope to inspire the RMS team--dedication and attention to detail are duly recognized and rewarded in due time.
