From 25 to 27 March 2026, Asia Pacific Maritime (APM 2026) — one of the region’s premier maritime industry event — was held at Marina Bay Sands, Singapore. The RMS team participated actively, engaging with shipowners, operators, and industry partners from across different parts of the world, reflecting the event’s continued importance as a hub for industry dialogue and collaboration.
A Strategic Milestone | Launch of Safeguard Marine
At 11:00 AM on 26 March, RMS and Hatecke formally announced the establishment of their joint venture, Safeguard Marine (Singapore) Pte. Ltd., with a launch and brand unveiling ceremony held at the exhibition booth.
The ceremony was officiated by Mr. Krischan Oltmann, CFO of Hatecke GmbH, and Mr. Seow Zhi Yuan, Managing Director of RMS Singapore, marking the official announcement of the partnership into the maritime safety services space.
With over 120 years of heritage, Hatecke is globally recognized for its expertise in lifeboat manufacturing, serving both cruise and commercial shipping sectors. The formation of Safeguard Marine reflects a strategic alignment between Hatecke’s technical leadership in lifeboat systems and RMS’s nearly three decades of operational experience in maritime services.
This joint venture is established against a broader industry backdrop of increasing regulatory scrutiny, heightened safety standards, and growing demand for lifecycle-based service solutions. Safeguard Marine aims to address these evolving requirements by delivering a comprehensive, one-stop platform for maritime safety services.
By combining RMS’s established service network and operational capabilities with Hatecke’s deep technical know-how, Safeguard Marine will provide integrated solutions covering inspection, maintenance, repair, and spare parts supply for critical safety equipment. The company is positioned to support both commercial shipping and cruise segments, where reliability and compliance are paramount.
The Singapore-based operation is supported by a dedicated team of more than 15 skilled technicians, offering 24/7 service coverage for vessels calling at Singapore and key regional ports— ensuring service responsiveness in one of the world’s busiest maritime corridors.
At APM 2026 | Strengthening Industry Connections
Throughout the three-day exhibition, the RMS booth served as an active platform for engagement, welcoming a steady flow of industry stakeholders. Discussions centered on integrated, one-stop solutions across the vessel lifecycle, including marine supply, technical services, safety solutions, logistics, and ship agency support.
Beyond commercial discussions, conversations also addressed broader industry dynamics—such as shifting trade patterns, operational efficiency challenges, and particularly the increasing importance of supply chain resilience—reinforcing RMS’s commitment to staying aligned with evolving market needs.
Looking Ahead
While APM 2026 has concluded, the partnerships and dialogues initiated during the event continue to drive forward momentum. The launch of Safeguard Marine represents a meaningful expansion of RMS’s maritime safety service portfolio and underscores its commitment to delivering higher-value, integrated solutions.
As the maritime industry continues to evolve, RMS will further strengthen collaboration with partners, invest in capabilities, and enhance service delivery—supporting customers with reliable, responsive, and future-ready one-stop solutions across our global operations.
